Lagos All Progressives Congress, APC, Chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, has described the sudden death of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s Deputy Chief of Staff, Gboyega Soyannwo, as sad, devasting and loss to the entire people of the state.

Soyannwo passed on after a brief illness on Wednesday, May 15, 2024.

In a condolence message to the family of the deceased, Ojelabi said his death was a big devastating loss to the government and people of Lagos State whom he served with dedication till he breathed his last.

He said Gboyega was a dutiful officer who deployed his energy and intellect to the service of the state and displayed a high sense of commitment and responsibility when he had the opportunity to serve the state

According to Ojelabi, “His death, will no doubt, create a vacuum that would not be easy to fill both in the politics of the state and in the life of the multitude of people that rely on him.”

He expressed deep regret that Gboyega died when his services and wealth of experience are mostly needed and wondered how the Governor would be able to cope with the loss of “his friend and trusted ally.”

Ojelabi, however, commiserated with Governor Sanwo-Olu, the Lagos State Government, the deceased’s family, friends, and the people of Lagos State during this difficult time, saying “Gboyega will always be remembered as a dedicated and loyal servant of the party.”

The APC, he said, would continue to honor his memory by upholding the values and principles that he held dear.

Ojelabi prayed God to grant the soul of the departed eternal peace and the family members the fortitude to bear the loss.
