At least 11 civilians were killed and other wounded when a suicide bomber detonated a bomb at a viewing center in Konduga Local Government Area area of Borno State Friday night, sources said.
It was learnt that the explosion occured around 9pm at the front of a cinema house beside Fish Market in Konduga town.
According to sources, the bomber who strapped improvised explosive device on her body killed mostly children who were selling fishes in front of viewing center.

“No fewer than 11 people are dead while many were injured and have been rushed to the State Specialist Hospital in Maiduguri where they are currently receiving treatment,” a civilian JTF member confirmed to BusinessDay.
The JTF member said security operatives have been deployed to the area as health workers are trying to offer help to injured victims.
When contacted, ASP Kenneth Daso, police public relations officer, who confirmed the incident was silent on the casualty figures.

“Yes, there was a suicide attack in Konduga around 8:pm and some people lost their lives and others sustained varying degrees of injuries,” Daso said via phone call.
The last time a suicide bombing was experienced in Konduga was almost a year ago.
Konduga is 36 kilometres away from Maiduguri, the capital city of Borno.
