 *TOPIC: THE GIFT OF ENCOURAGEMENT*

_” But charge Joshua,  and encourage him, and strengthen him: for he shall go over before this people, and he shall cause them to inherit the land which thou shalt see.” Deuteronomy 3:28._

 *MESSAGE*

Encouragement can work miracles. When you look for what is good in a person and tell them about it, you give them something to live up to. In other words, you motivate them to be better than they are.

We can sometimes feel like there is nothing adequate that we can give to someone as a way of helping them, but if all we have to give to their particular situation is words of encouragement, that is just enough because such words carry a lot of power. They can change lives. They stay with us for years, and God can use them to strengthen us during rough times.

In Deuteronomy 3:28, God is telling Moses to encourage Joshua, getting him ready  take over from him ‘for he shall go over before this people, and he shall cause them to inherit the land which thou shalt see’. This last task is just as important as all the things Moses had done.

Sometimes, the next world changer just needs some God- filled, encouraging words, to get them going into what God is calling them to do. And here is the great thing about encouragement: You don’t have to be rich, attractive, prominent, or brilliant to give it, and it is always appreciated.
