THE HEART BEHIND THE ACT

I struggled with a lot of emotions when my wife put her scissors on my head to remove every single strand of my hair!

Bro Segun Badejo joined her with razor, soap and water to finish the work.

I looked at the mirror and I was scared of ME! Akobi Laaroye was costly in every sense of it. Loads of sacrifices from cast and crew that we cannot even talk about.

I remember I have gone under water before with Sola Adeaga just to act a scene that will only serve as a dream. Maybe less than 2 minutes in the entire movie.

I was actually sick when we were shooting that scene…

I have crawled inside forest and mistakenly injured myself in another location just because we needed to give our best to act in movies.

This has to be for JESUS ONLY!

I have stories to tell of the stuff we go through to shoot a movie of just an hour. Epic is more terrible and demanding.

Here is my point.

If I do all these ONLY and solely to entertain and make people laugh while they eat popcorn and drink coke, then out of all men, I am the most miserable!

I am talking about ME. I am not in the position to judge another.

For me, I make movies with eternity in view.

This I have said before, take away the Gospel from Drama and movie making, ME has no business there!

All these sacrifices are too many just for the purpose of FUN and FANS. Not worth it at all.

Not all may accept this. It is not actually meant for everybody. It is the point of view of ME as a Pilgrim in this world that must surely give account to God one day of all I did with what He has given ME.

His gift in my life is His gift and not mine. I did nothing to deserve it though I have worked to improve it but then who gave me the life, good health and grace for that? HE!

To use this gift outside of Him is the worst type of life ME can possibly live.

May that not be my portion! Never!

As for ME, In Him I live, in Him I move, in Him I have my being. I am alive for Him and will die in Him.

While a good movie must be entertaining and laced with comic reliefs, for us as elect of God, our movies must point men to God and propagate the ministry of reconciliation that has been committed to all saints.

This should be the heart behind the act for the redeemed who are blood
