Born and raised in a very remote Agrarian Camp, Roro had no option than learn his parents’ farming and Oil production skills at a tender age. So early that he can’t pinpoint the actual age he began understudying his parents. He grew up assisting his parents and moving on to experiment by having his own farms in unattractive areas that yielded poorly.
Creditably, Roro’s illiterate parents highly valued formal education and prioritized its acquisition for at least their male children. Education gradually became Roro’s occupation when he enrolled in a public primary school faraway from his agrarian settlement. He treks brickly for an hour to arrive on time, and does same after school. It is not uncommon for obedient Roro to bear heavy load of Garri on his head while going to school. He does that to help the mother that later comes to the local market to sell and raise money to buy other things needed in the family.
Rural upbuilding exposed Roro to alot of physical dangers – injuries. Worst of which was fracturing his spine. That made Roro drags his right foot.
Positively, Roro’s remote upbuilding shielded him from vices and crimes common in Urban areas. Roro imbibed virtues as hardworking, honesty, punctuality, chastity and more.
Regardless of the the challenges and setbacks, Roro became one of the best pupils and students at primary and secondary levels. Eventually, he left the village to attend one of the best Universities in Nigeria. Now in his urban dwelling, Roro maintainssome fond memories of his agrarian life as evening dances, fishing and gaming. He misses them so much that he wishes he could take out time to enjoy again.
