“They Can’t Declare Me Wanted”

Speed Darlington, has addressed a wanted notice from NAPTIP.

NAPTIP publicly accused him of serious crimes, including rape, cyberbullying, and cyberstalking.

The announcement was made via NAPTIP’s verified Instagram account on Friday afternoon.

Nigerian singer and internet personality, Speed Darlington, popularly known as Akpi, has responded to a wanted notice issued by the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP).

The agency made the declaration public through its verified Instagram page on Friday afternoon, accusing the artist of grave offences, including rape, cyberbullying, and cyberstalking.

Their statement read:

“Darlington Okoye, aka Speed Darlington, is wanted in connection with alleged offences including rape, cyberbullying, and cyberstalking. Anyone with credible information on his whereabouts is urged to contact NAPTIP immediately.”

In an interview with Saturday Beats, Speed Darlington reacted to the notice, questioning the agency’s authority to label him wanted. He stated that his lawyer had already been informed of the situation and would be handling it.

“Thanks for the heads-up, but I’m not worried. They have no right to declare me wanted,” he said. “My lawyer has already seen the post. They’re only embarrassing themselves. My legal team is on it.”

The agency reportedly issued the public notice after the singer failed to honour a summons to appear at their office on May 30, 2025, regarding a viral Instagram Live session where he allegedly admitted to having sexual relations with a 15-year-old girl.

Although Speed Darlington had asked to reschedule the meeting for June 26 due to other engagements, NAPTIP went public with the declaration after he failed to show up again.
