This £15 eye spray is a godsend for hayfever sufferers as this week’s pollen count rises

While we’re all thrilled about the arrival of spring, there’s one aspect that dampens our spirits – hayfever season. With the pollen count on the rise, those of us prone to hayfever are already grappling with its symptoms.

One of the most bothersome signs of hayfever is the discomfort of sore, swollen and itchy eyes, which only worsen with rubbing or dabbing. As someone who regularly battles these allergy-induced eye issues, I’ve given numerous products a go over the years. However, one product has consistently proven its worth; Peep Club’s Instant Relief Eye Spray, available for £15.

I first discovered this gem when I noticed Trinny Woodall using it during a flight. The beauty guru shared her essential skincare products for air travel, and this soothing eye spray made the cut.

Since then, the Instant Relief Eye Spray has become an indispensable part of my routine. It’s accompanied me on every flight to give relief from dry eyes (recycled cabin air is the worst), been a constant in my handbag during the pollen-heavy spring and summer months, and helped soothe my eyes whilst on holiday when dry heat and excessive air conditioning left them feeling sore and fatigued.

The Instant Relief Eye Spray is the ultimate compact solution for dry, itchy and sore eyes. Its 17ml size makes it a breeze to pop into your pocket, handbag or even your carry-on luggage.

Clinically proven to alleviate redness, irritation, itchiness, watering, heavy tired lids and that gritty sensation, this spray works wonders not only on your external eyelid but also on the under-eye skin.

Its two key ingredients are colourless sea buckthorn oil and sodium hyaluronate, which team up to moisturise, restore and soothe your entire eye area. Plus, it’s completely free of alcohol and preservatives, and it’s vegan and organic to boot.

Even those with super sensitive skin can use it – I suffer from eczema around my eyes and this actually helps rather than exacerbates it. It’s also safe for contact lens wearers and can be sprayed over makeup, provided it’s been dry for at least 10 minutes.

Application is easy too – just close your eyes, spray it from about 15 to 20cm away, give each eye one to two sprays and then open your eyes. You can use it as often as needed without worry.

Reviewers are singing its praises too, with one sharing: “Easy to apply (even to myself) and gives instant and lasting relief to tired, dry eyes.”

Another fan of the product shared: “I suffer from dry eyes and this spray has worked miracles! I no longer have problems opening my eyes in the morning and it’s a pleasure to use as so refreshing.”

However, some users found the application process a bit challenging. One customer noted: “The application is difficult to administer on your eyes, it needs a hard push down on the spray applicator and you need to spray it on with your eye closed it probably would be better someone else doing it… once applied it gives great relief and soothing..”

If you’re looking for alternatives, consider the Optrex Actimist 10 ml Eye Spray, usually £15.99 but currently discounted to £9.60 on Amazon. Another option is the HayMax Pure Organic Drug-Free Allergen Barrier Balm, priced at £8.49, which is excellent for keeping pollen at bay; just apply it around your nostrils and eye bones (avoiding direct contact with your eyes) to trap allergens before they reach your nose and eyes, reports the Mirror.
