Tinubu Speaks in Benue: I’m Still Learning. I Can’t See It All

President Bola Tinubu says he draws lessons from even his harshest critics, acknowledging that leadership requires continuous learning and humility.

Speaking during a visit to Benue State on Wednesday, the President said he doesn’t ignore public criticism, especially from the media, and often reflects on the feedback to improve governance.

“No matter what I do, they will insult me. I read the papers and I learn from their criticism because I can’t see it all,” Tinubu said.

The President’s visit comes in the wake of deadly attacks in the state, where suspected herders recently killed dozens.

Addressing the security crisis, Tinubu vowed to intensify federal support and gave fresh orders to military service chiefs to prioritise the arrest of the attackers.

“The killings must stop,” he declared. “I have had enough of this. I want an immediate action plan to end these attacks. Arrest the perpetrators and let the community have peace.”

He also called for regional cooperation, proposing the formation of a joint committee of leaders to work with federal authorities in crafting a long-term peace strategy.

“We cannot do without one another,” Tinubu said. “I will want us to create a leadership committee now to meet in Abuja to fashion out a strategy for lasting peace. And I am ready to invest in that peace.”

The President assured the people of Benue that his administration is committed to restoring peace, promising that the state will not be neglected under his watch.
