_”And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.” Genesis 2:18._

*MESSAGE*

In the book of Genesis, we witness the creation of a perfect world by God. At the end of each day of creation, God observed His work and declared it good. Yet, there was one aspect that was not good: *’It is not good for the man to be alone’ (Genesis 2:18).* God’s remedy for this issue was to *’make him a help meet for him’ (v. 18).* Despite showcasing all creatures to Adam, no suitable companion was found among them (v. 20).

Adam had the company of animals, heavenly beings, and God Himself, yet God recognized the unique need for a companion who would perfectly match Adam—someone with a shared nature and understanding from a human perspective. Thus, God created Eve as the ideal human companion. This narrative reveals that God designed us with an inherent need for companionship, understanding our unique needs.

While God is available to comfort, help, discipline, and guide us at all times, He also acknowledges our need for companionship with fellow humans. Sometimes, we may wrongly perceive our need for others as a weakness. However, the desire for friendship, love, and connection is not a weakness but a divine design.
