A 64-year-old man has been charged with careless driving causing death in connection with a collision between a farm tractor and a motorcycle in September.

The collision occurred at about 4 p.m. on Sept. 26 on Highway 41 at Walsh Road in North Algona Wilberforce Township. The Ontario Provincial Police said at the time that a preliminary investigation indicated the motorcycle was northbound on 41 when it collided with a tractor that had entered the intersection from Walsh Road.

The driver of the motorcycle, a 76-year-old man from Renfrew, was transported to hospital by ambulance, but died a short time later. The driver of the tractor was not injured.

Officers from the Upper Ottawa Valley OPP detachment charged Kevin Schoenfeldt of Naw on March 18, police said in a news release Monday.
