University of Nigeria Nsukka staff captured collecting ₦16k cash each from students for admission clearance

A University of Nigeria, Nsukka staff was filmed allegedly taking ₦16,000 in cash from new students for admission clearance.

The video was shared anonymously on X (formerly Twitter) by a student. In the clip, the staff member is shown receiving cash from a student and counting it to verify the amount.

The student claims the staff only accepts cash and does not allow bank transfers.

He also mentioned that many students in the department are being asked to pay the same fee for clearance. In the video, the student asked for assistance, stating:

“Nigerians, come to our help. This is the Faculty of Agriculture doing clearance.”

“This man is collecting ₦16k from each student — this is not fair. Thousands of students are coming to do clearance. He tells you he doesn’t take transfer.”
