 *MESSAGE*

The story of Zelophehad’s daughters in Numbers 27:1-11 offers a powerful reminder that we have the power to challenge unjust traditions and bring about positive change. These courageous women, faced with the prospect of losing their inheritance due to their father’s passing without male heirs, refused to accept the status quo.

Instead of succumbing to despair or resentment, they took decisive action. They approached Moses, the leader of Israel, and presented their case with clarity and conviction. They boldly asserted their right to inherit their father’s land, challenging the prevailing tradition that favoured male heirs.

Their courage and determination paid off. God, in response to their unwavering faith, intervened on their behalf, granting them the inheritance they sought. This divine intervention not only vindicated their rights but also set a precedent for future generations, challenging the unjust tradition of disinheriting daughters.

The story of Zelophehad’s daughters serves as an inspiration to us today. When faced with unjust traditions or practices, we too must have the courage to speak up and challenge them. We must have a clear understanding of what we desire and possess the boldness to pursue it, even in the face of opposition.
