Ogundipe oluwatoyin amos There was this boy l met, he introduced himself as a student at ABC University, and he was studying XYZ course.
Then l asked him,” Where will your skills and knowledge be needed?”
Him: “I don’t know”
Me: Not surprised because 95%of students including me, especially in Nigeria don’t know why they are in school, where their skills will be needed after school, or what to do with it.
To avoid this club, do not wait until you are done in school before thinking of what to do with your life, skills, and knowledge.
Knowing what to do before going to school is the best because this knowledge will guide you in picking a course of study and avoid wasting time like some of us who studied Accounting and ended up a teacher.
If l had known earlier l would have been a teacher from scratch. My career would have been two decades old. Wow, that’s a long time.
But, l thank God for the opportunity to retrace my steps.
P.S. To the students in school, start thinking of the problem to solve now. Don’t wait to graduate before doing so. It’s frustrating to graduate and not know what next.
