Remember that only Easter Friday, April 18, is officially a statutory holiday in Ontario. That means government offices, banks and malls are closed.

But, while Easter Monday is not a stat provincially, it’s still recognized as a holiday federally and municipally, so services such as the Ottawa Public Library and Canada Post, won’t be open.

The trick is, as usual, to check ahead of time to possibly save a trip.

Shopping malls, grocery stores, and more

All malls are closed Good Friday and Easter Sunday. On Good Friday, buses and O-Train lines 1, 2 and 4 will run on a Sunday schedule.On Monday, buses and O-Train Line 1 will be on a reduced weekday schedule. Garbage and recycling

There will be no curbside green bin, recycling, garbage or bulky item collection on Friday or Monday. Friday’s pickup will take place on Saturday. Monday’s pickup will be made on Tuesday. All other collection will be delayed by one day for the rest of the week.There will be no collections of multi-residential recycling containers, bulky items and green bins on Friday and Monday.The Trail Waste Facility Landfill will be open on Friday and Monday
