The relationship between Xabi Alonso and Bayer Leverkusen could be coming to an end after this current season ( 2024/25) following rumours linking him to Real Madrid.
There are reports that Xabi Alonso will leave Bayer Leverkusen for Real Madrid at the end of this season. This decision was influenced following the Galacticos exit in the quarterfinals of the Champions League by Arsenal and lost in the Copa del Rey final to arch-rivals Barcelona, who are also on course to win the Spanish La Liga.
However, Carlo Ancelotti is reported to have reached an agreement with Real Madrid to leave at the end of this season by mutual consent.

Alonso is one of the favourites to take over the coaching role at Real Madrid following his impressive run since he joined Bayer Leverkusen.
He joined Leverkusen in October 2022, when the club were at 17th in the Bundesliga table. He led them to Europa League qualification before achieving something previously unprecedented in German football.
